6th Anniversary Wrap-Up!
Wow, what a fun ride the past few weeks have been!
First of all, we have to say we are so grateful to be here after six years! Not only are we still here, but we are truly doing better than ever, something we couldn't do without you. This means that - every day - more and more people are choosing their health, the earth, and all who inhabit it as a priority. This is an amazing shift from a decade ago, and we are incredibly blessed to witness it. You have given us so much over the past six years, it was a real joy to give something back to you over the last few weeks.
From our surprise in-store giveaways, to online prizes, and in-store prize draws, we've loved seeing all the smiling faces and hope everyone who received something enjoyed something they already use or that it gave you a chance to try something new!
The biggest highlights for us was our customer appreciation day. You know when you put out party invites, and then there's that gut-wrenching period when the party started, and you're worried that nobody is going to show? Yeah. We had that. But you all floored us by showing up in droves, with smiles, congratulations, encouragement, and gratitude. It was incredible having this time to truly celebrate with you, and - to those of us who've been at LR since the beginning - brought back all the fond memories of our opening and how our community truly showed up for us then as well (another time we weren't sure if anyone would!). So, thank you. You really did make it a wonderful day for us, and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
We couldn't have done all the draws and prizes and treats without our amazing vendors, so here's where we need to give a massive shout out to them. They went above and beyond with their generosity, and made it super fun for us to be able to make so many people's days with wonderful surprises! Kicking us off in Week 1, we had Essential Toothpaste, Searl Soap Company, Nelson Naturals, Miir, and Fenigo surprising random customers throughout the week. Week 2 was filled with donations for our Customer Appreciation Day, and included OM Foods, French Press Coffee Roasters, World Community Coffee, Denman Island Tea Co., Saltspring Island Kombucha. We had beautiful cupcakes from Just Beat It, and some delicious treats hand-made with love by Ginette's mom Anna. (Don't worry, we had LOTS of requests for her recipe and will get that to you soon!) And in our final week, we've had even MORE to give away! We were able to gift those who may not have been able to make it into the store at the right time with gifts from Carina Organics, Nixit, High End Hippie, and Genesis Tallow. And we had some incredible prize bundles in-store for our Big Prize Finale! There was Mint Cleaning, Nellie's, Bluebird Pads, The Unscented Company, Fluf Bags, and Birch Babe. Thank you so much to all our incredibly caring vendors for helping make this an anniversary celebration we won't soon forget.
And last, but certainly not least, we need to give a massive shout out to our team, who we would certainly be lost without. It is their wonderful energy, care for each other & our community, combined with their dedication to making this earth a better place for years to come that makes them so special. They each bring something unique, beautiful, and needed to our store and our little place on this planet. We are so grateful for them.
