We have just entered No Mow May, where - in support of biodiversity - we abandon our Spring chore of mowing the lawn until the end of the month. Some folks are more than happy to just sit back and watch it grow, while enjoying this warmer weather (we're getting there!). Others may be saying, "but... the dandelions...", and for those, we have a couple points we'd like to share:

But, the ongoing question... are they Better in Bulk?

So, Christmas is over. What to do with our beautiful trees? Give 'em a send off that gives 'em new life AND keeps them out of the landfill!

Here are a few ideas.

Did you know that Canadians generate over 545,000 tonnes of waste, along with 6 million rolls of tape, from gift wrapping and shopping bags each year? That's about 78,000 elephants worth of waste added to our landfills. Yikes!

But there are alternatives!

How do you dispose of your pumpkins?

According to Stats Can, there are over 82,000 metric tonnes of pumpkins grown each year in Canada. If they end up in the landfill, these Halloween staples do nothing but emit methane gas. Now that IS scary!

But there are better options for our pumpkin pals! Here are a few.

We've lived in a grab n' go world for so long, we often don't even think about the price of the packaging. Do we really need that stuff? Well, yes… especially with certain items, otherwise... you know... things could get a little messy!

Food waste is a problem we all face, so we wanted to share these tips to keep your food longer!

1. Fresh Fruit: We're in the middle of fruit season! Such a delicious time, but sometimes we buy more than we can consume before it goes bad. If you notice your fruit is seeming a little sad, resist the urge to toss it out & toss it in the freezer instead! It's perfect for smoothies, jams, sauces, and baking.

By show of hands, who here has bought deodorant that:
a) didn't work
b) didn't smell like you hoped
c) made you smell worse then if you'd used nothing?

We've been putting it off until we could offer the right transition products, so today's the day... we're going there...
